WHY I TRANSLATE
I believe that creative expression is an important aspect of humanity, and that creativity and reading are both inherently good for us. To help share that across languages is extremely rewarding. I love good-quality writing, and I love that translation means examining a beautifully crafted text so closely that you can reconstruct it in all-new words. I also love how as a translator I never stop learning: each text is a deep dive into new topics and ideas. It’s incredibly enriching. And with each text I translate, I get to tune in to a new voice in a new way, because every one is unique.
